Q: I am an asylum seeker and would like to work with the service check. What is my hourly wage?
A: A minimum hourly wage of EUR 11.75 per hour applies to all persons, including asylum seekers, who are paid with the service check. A lower hourly wage of 5 euros is only permitted for activities for asylum seekers in the municipality (e.g. building yard, school, retirement home, etc.).
Q: What is moonlighting or illegal work?
A: Undeclared work is paid work that is not officially registered and for which no taxes and social security contributions are paid. If you don’t declare your work, you risk a fine.
